Internet Safer Day
9 February 2021
Dear Parents/Carers
I hope you are all staying safe and well and have seen the letter to parents about Internet Safer Day. Today is Internet Safer Day and its obviously very different to all the others we have celebrated in recent years. If you can complete some online safety tasks at home with your child this week that would be great. Unfortunately, this year I have not been able to get the online buddies to help me organise this event, but I am hoping that as things get more settled we will be able to organise some other online safety activities throughout the school.
There are a number of activities it would be really good if you could complete at home
- Have a look at ‘The Priory School Online Safety Pledges’ pupils came up with on Internet Safer Day 2019 and if your child has any further ideas for pledges or would like to rewrite any please email me their suggestions.
- Complete the Internet We Trust quiz with your child, if you feel it is appropriate for them. You can either use the attached document above or use this link to complete on the website https://www.saferinternet.org.uk/safer-internet-day/safer-internet-day-2021/safer-internet-day-2021-quiz. You can email me at school to let me know how you get on.
- Go the Internet Safer Day Presentation 2021 PowerPoint document.
- Encourage your child to design a book mark based upon this year Internet Day theme ‘An internet we trust: exploring reliability in the online world’. Your child can use the bookmark templates provided or design their own. The winning bookmark will be copied and distributed to pupils throughout the school. If possible email your bookmarks to me at school laura.cap@priory-cit.co.uk.
Many thanks
Mrs Cap
