Discussion points from the question and answer session.

  • Post-16 Provision - Although we will become an all age all need provider it is most likely that learners with moderate learning difficulties will continue to transition from the school at the end of year 11. The local provision available to such learners, through colleges and alternative providers, remains strong and therefore we feel this will continue to be the most appropriate route to support such learners with their aspirations for the future. Post-16 provision will therefore be available for learners with severe learning needs and/or profound and multiple learning need.
  • Day to day arrangements - The day to day running of both schools will be very similar once we move to an amalgamated school. Pupils will learn predominantly at one campus but may access specific resources to enhance learning experiences. For example pupils learning at the Waterside Campus may access the Hydrotherapy pool at the Springview Campus. There will also be times throughout the year where the two campuses do come together for learning and/or celebration e.g. Careers Days and Celebration Evenings.
  • Movement between sites over time - The Waterside Campus will mainly support learners with moderate learning difficulties and a small number of pupils with severe learning difficulties. The Springview Campus will support learners with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties. Overtime it may be appropriate for a child to move from one campus to another more permanently so they can access an education most appropriate to their emerging needs. Should this be the case a member of leadership will discuss this with you. Where required we will also discuss this decision with your child's SEND caseworker and other professionals. Collectively we will discuss the proposed arrangements and work together to establish the best route moving forward.

Update 22/05/2022

The school will have a new uniform and supplier for next academic year. Uniform will be provided by Nationwide School Uniform - you can visit their dedicated website for the school by clicking here

Although the school will have a new uniform supplier parents and carers can continue to purchasing similar items from a local supermarket. Pupils can also continue to wear their current uniform (with the old branding) if it fits and has plenty of wear left in it.
