16/04/2020   Free School Meals

Dear all,

Firstly I am very sorry for the mix up with the Coop gift cards which I hope you received in the post in the last couple of days.

What I have been able to find out from calls to Lincolnshire Coop headquarters, National Coop headquarters and many local stores is as follows:

  • I have receipts to show that the cards are pre-loaded with £10 each (£20 in total) as a contribution to food for the lunches your children missed between Monday 23rd March and Friday 3rd April
  • These are Coop group (National) gift cards
  • Most of our local Coop stores are Lincolnshire Coop and they don’t accept these cards (mad, I know!)
  • Local stores which assure me they do accept the cards are – Kirton, Sleaford, Donington, Bourne, Billingborough and Wyberton.  I am going to take a card in tomorrow morning just to check this out and will report back
  • Local stores which are Lincolnshire Coop and don’t accept the cards are all the others I’ve looked into – Eastwood Road (Boston), Argyle Street (Boston), Skirbeck Road (Boston), Woodville Road (Boston), Old Leake, Coningsby, Woodhall Spa, Ruskington or Holbeach.

If you can use your cards at Kirton, Sleaford, Donington, Bourne, Billingborough and Wyberton please go ahead.

If those stores are difficult for you then I’m afraid I will have to ask you to return them to me.  We will then get a refund and I will reissue vouchers for your local Lincolnshire Coop store.

I can only apologise again for the inconvenience this is causing you.  If anyone is in genuine immediate food hardship please do contact me and I will see what we can do to help.

Please contact school to inform us of your plans.

Many thanks

Matthew Bloodworth-Flatt (Headteacher)
